What is Environmental Intelligence and how could it help you?

Event Information

Environmental Intelligence (EI) is the key to integrating environmental data and knowledge with Artificial Intelligence to provide the meaningful insight that informs decision-making, improved risk management, and the technological innovation that enables sustainable interaction with the natural environment. EI is one of the 4 pillars of the University’s Green Futures campaign to raise awareness of our excellent research in climate and environment ahead of COP26.

All UEBS staff are invited to learn more about Environmental Intelligence and how EI approaches could aid their research at an open seminar hosted by Professor Gavin Shaddick, Chair of Data Science and Statistics and Director of the Joint Centre for Excellence in Environmental Intelligence (JCEEI). Prof Shaddick will describe how Environmental Intelligence is being applied to enhance environment and sustainability research, and explore with participants ways in which UEBS research could benefit from these insights.

A Follow-up workshop will be hosted in September 2021 for those who wish to explore opportunities to collaborate with EI scientists.
